Reverse Circulation (RC) is becoming a very popular exploration drilling method especially in the mining industry and preferred over the core sampling method for the following reasons:
- Higher penetration rate;
- Provides uncontaminated samples;
- Timely and cost-efficient;
- Allows to obtain the mineral percentage of the rock/soil; 
- Minimal environmental damage.

 

The RC method uses dual wall drill rods that consist of an outer drill rod with a hollow inner tube.  The RC Hammers are also designed with an inner tube, which allows the injection of the compressed air through the space between the inner tube and the wear sleeve, and the return of the sample cuttings through the inner tube back to the surface into sample bags.
